Nita Ambani Delivers Lecture at London School of Economics

Nita AmbaniLONDON:  It is indeed the sign of emerging India as Nita Ambani, wife of Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man and the chairman of Reliance Industries, delivered a lecture on emerging India at the famous London School of Economics (LSE).

Nita Ambani is the chairperson of Reliance Foundation that manages and runs 12 schools educating around 15000 children.

During her lecture, Nita Ambani kept on referring to the people she admires most in life- she talked at lenght about her father-in-law- late Dhirubhai Ambani and husband Mukesh Ambani. In her lecture, Nita’s emphasised on education, healthcare, harnessing and tapping emerging India’s many opportunities that lay hidden.

She added, “In the 70s, when Mukesh and I were in university, India was known as a third world country. But now things are entirely different and we are going to be the third largest economy. India has witnessed the Green Revolution movement and taken rapid strides in service sector as well and I believe India is now a movement.”

Nita was quizzed a lot about her role as the architect of the Mumbai Indians IPL team.

She replied to questions by saying, “I think IPL is a very good property and I think it will continue for a very long time. If you put in systems and processes, it will last and very confident Mumbai Indians will do a good job,”.

It was interesting to see Mukesh Ambani proudly sitting in the first row among the listeners and did not answer any questions, saying it was Nita’s day and the focus should entirely be on her.
